Dolphins

Again late that i post that, but every day on the boat gives less time by the computer. On the way to our dive site (Hin Luk Bat) on the 21st of November we saw a big school of dolphins - some of them went closer to our boat to play.... - another magic moment on the Scandinavian Chang Diving Boat...

S CDC Boat

The Scandinavian Chang Diving Center 'Luxusliner' is back on Koh Chang. (in front of course)
Our first ride was on Saturday, but it was a long w
eekend so we the post is a bit late... anyway, it was a perfect start and a sunny day so you could stay on the big sundeck, where is also the teaching area.
Some words to the boat by it self,

it is insured for 34 passengers, there are life wests in all sizes and 2 Swim rings easy to grap for the safety, Oxygen and a small pharmacy with the most common medicine and a walky talky as our motto safety first!
There is space for 26 Sets to built up with easy dress on, beside there are tankraks for 56 tanks, without being in the way.
A dry area and for sensible things a dry area in the captains hut.
Drinks from hot coffee or tea over coke, sprite, ... or hot chocolate milk with cookies for the kids or the kid in us.
The lunch is served in the midday, it is warmed up and you can choose from a range of thai dishes, vegetarian, spice, rice or noodles, ... a
nd sweet fruits on the way back.
Surely there is a toilet and space for shower on as well.

I could keep on and keep on what is all else on but enought said let's pictures talk.

Hin Rua Tek

Today the water is flat like a mirrow, so we could go on lokal divespots.
The fist dive we went to Hin Rua Tek, it is located only 20 minutes from Bang Bao, between Koh Chang and Koh Klum. Maximum depth is at 15 meters and the shallower level is at 6 meters. When it is lowtide two rocks break the surface, by hightide you do not see the spot. To surround the complete coral area of Hin Rua Tek it would take 90 minutes of time with a relaxed speed. You can see there a huge braincoral, Humpcorals, ... Today we met a big bluespotted stingray inside a small cave. All in all a very nice divespot.

Rain & Storm = Non Diving Specialty Course

There is a storm close to Thailand,
So we are sorry to tell but today and tomorrow it is to wavie to go out with the boat.
It would not be safety and as Safety is our first interesst we cancel for two days our trips.
Still there is no reason to be depressed, there are many coureses where you can upgrade your knowledge about diving .... You have your gear why you do not learn how to service it with the Equipment Specialty Course ... Or how long time ago your last Emergency First Response Course is done ... Did you know that it is not requiered to dive to do your NITROX Specialty Course ..
and much much more,
just ask

wind and waves

Rainyseason ...
Last week we had to cancel because the waves were to high, actually for the diving it would not be a problem, just the way to the divesites is raff and for all those who have a sensetive stomach ... tja i think i do not have to explane more.
Anyway the wind is gone and the sea is nice again - ok - not like a mirrow, but good to go.
so what are you waiting for ...
see you underwater

Koh Yak Yai

Koh Yak Yai is a small island in the national Park around Koh Rang. All around this island you find corals starting by 1.5 meters under the surface, down to 8 till 12 meters. On this dive we met a big school of yellow stripe snappers. They are so many that sometimes you even do not see the beautiful corals anymore. Icould spent the hole dive just watching the amazing formations this school of fishes do....

Koh Wai

This island is south from Koh Chang, around 40 minutes with a slowboat or 20 minutes with a speedboat. On the island there is the PAKARAN resort. Pakaran means CORALS. And that what they do. There is since 3 years a artificial reef, and it is growing. The resort do a lot for the underwater enviroment, as well we sell some fish and coral identification slates (so if you want you can take them underwater too) and the money goes to them. For this they also have a turltel nursory and they teach the fishermans and captains how to protect corals and how to not throw the anker on them. So a good reason to support. Beside this there is nothing else to do on that island only relax and have a chat with them. Stop not true on the other side of Koh Wai is a nice divespot as well. Unluckily the weather conditions mostly make it not possible to dive there.

Koh Yuak

Yesterday we went to the beautiful island KOH YUAK. The island is located infront of Kai Bae Beach, there are 4 islands and the biggest of the small islands is Koh Yuak. With a speedboat we are there in only 10 Minutes. The island is most rocky with a nice small sand beach, where you also have some tree's - who give nice shadow. The corals start by 1,5 meters already and sergant majors come quickt to look if you have some food for them. The next level is around 6 - 8 meters, with a area of mushroom corals followed by anemons with there friendly 'nemo' fishes. On that spot we got 500 anemonfishes to let them into freedom, it was a project from a bangkok university together with the DASTA the national park quartier here on koh Chang. Always nice to visit them.

Just one day in the office

This is our main office it is located in Klong Prao, opposite you find the entreance to Klong Prao
Resort. Next to us is the HONDA Shop (if you want to rent a Motorbike on Koh Chang go to them, they service the bikes after each rent out !!) and on the other hand KO KI RI a Korean Restaurant (exelent BBQ !!) Klong Prao is in the middel of Koh Chang on the westcost (almost every thing on Koh Changt is on the west cost). Klong Prao Beach is the most beautiful Beach on this island, Only it is not good to snorkel, because there are no corals, just sand all the way out, and you can walk a long time until the water reach your hip ...

Privat Speedboat

Two days ago we went with a 'privat speedboat' for a nice group of Germans, first stop was the Beach from Koh Rang, with the diver i went to Koh Tiejn for a nice privat dive. Koh Tiejn is a shallow divespot with a lot of hump corals and with a field of large trompet corals up to 3 meter high !! Than we had lunch on the beach of Koh Da Lin (the captain told me the name - i do not know if i spelled it correct?) There we could watch some crap fight ... Just 5 minutes away was the next divespot Koh Tong Lang - always white eye morey aales .

On the way back we made a stop at monkey island and we got a big welcome from 2 monkey families, as nice guest we do had a pack with bananas for them!

Diving on Local Sites !!

Diving on the local sites is not always possible in the lowseason, BUT today we went there and it was great, no waves, good visibility.

During the dive on the most brilliant divespot HIN LUK BAT we had companie from a group of 10 or more yellow fin bat-fish. They are soo cute and come so close to divers, specialy when you wear yellow fins (secret!!) Hin Luk Bat by it self is a multilevel divesite. There are 5 huge rocks, 1 always break the surface, and 2 by low tide, the others are short under the surface, down to 10 meters. The bottom is by 17 till 22 meters, the next level 10 till 12 meters and between the rocks and small area around is 4 till 6 meters and it is called the aquarium - guess why?!?!?!
The hole divespot is coverd with a vary of hard corals and some sponge, vase corals are all over and a big area is full of anemones with there famous clownfishes. Reef fishes live there in harmonie with great baraccudas and lot more ...

So we looking forward to the dive tomorrow

you want to join ???

It is not true that in the rainy season it is raining all the time !!
Now it is already one week without rain!
Actually the sun is out for many hours each day, so it is nice to be on the boat, just the risk of a sunburn is still there.
We are out to Koh Rang, it is nicer to dive around Koh Rang now a days, the visibility getting better day to day same with the sea, it is calm and quiet again.

So when do you come and join us ???

Visibility is not perfect but 8 meters you can see a lot around here.
