We opend a New Shop in Kai Bae

It is a short week ago that we had the GRAND OPENING in Kai Bae, the shop we took over a month ago from a Tailor, so it was a lot of work to do .. a lot of rip off a lot of building and more and more color for walls, shelf's, roof and yeah a roof in the front .. concrete i think we had to go 3 times to get more. Surly we put new light board up and made the electricity work ...

But finaly it count how it look like now.

The party for the opening was a full success and we can just cross fingers that it stay that way.
Located is the shop in the middle of Kai Bea directly on the main road, on the mountain side.
Our neigbours are JULEE Bar, a small Thai Kitchen and next is KING Tattoo. Opposite you can enjoy HIPPO Restaurant or the WINE GALLERY.

And the shark stay

So a new day and i was diving around Koh Rang yesterday.
My goal was to find back the nurse shark i saw last week and guess .... sure otherwise i would not write about my dive !!
Yes the shark seem to get settled down by Koh Chang, or precise on Koh Yak Yai. With this i can say yes you can dive with sharks around Koh Chang, but be sure you go on a dive trip with Scandinavian Chang Diving Center because we know where the shark is !!!

shark

who say that there are no sharks around koh Chang??? It is rare, yes for sure, but now i have the proof !!
Day before yesterday we went out to the national park Koh Rang, because of some waves it was better to go to the wind and wave protected spots around Koh Rang. Still those dive spots belonging to the dive sites around koh Chang. Anyway that is not the importend part.
I just done the dives for a Nitrox specialty Course and we heard that some saw a shark in the area. So we started to do some search the shark, not only through the extended bottom time while diving with Nitrox we found him/her
As you can expect here are pictures:

Rain ...

It is rainy season, by the way it do not mean that it is rain alll the time ...
The rain by it self would not be any issue, but with the rain the wind is comming as well and that makes it wave nothing new but for safety reason we stayed in the harbor for the last few days, it seems to get less so we want to give it a try tomorrow,
so wind please stopp

Wheather in Thailand

All the news and the medias in Europe have something to write in the past weeks, Thailand is flooded and there are so many troubles because of the Earth quake ... Yes some parts of Thailand are like Koh Tao, Koh Samui, Surrathani and the North like Chang Mai .... It is not that bad as the news write about it, Thailand is used to flooding s during the rainy season so that's nothing new ..
BUT here on the beautiful Koh Chang - we are the lucky ones, here are no flooding s no Earth quake, yes we have a bit of rain too and it was colder than usual. Since a couple of days it getting warmer again and the sun visit day by day a bit longer.
Bedside of that the diving is great, the water is warm (it was also someday warmer than the air) and the visibility is really good.
only we are still waiting for the whale shark, it is the season now that the possibility is given around Koh Chang to see the biggest fish you can. March/April so where are you??

Cancelations

Today i got sad back from the boat.. why, because it was in the morning, i was on the boat already buildup the gear for a Discover Scuba Dive and her boyfriend wanted to follow as a FUN Diver and my own set of course. The crew talked about where to go and so on, while we were waiting on the arrive of our customers. Suddenly our driver called up and said that those two canceled. ??? There are reasons to cancel, sure there are, but is it asked to much to give a short call?, not just let our driver wait - and so the other customers have to wait also? Or if they know in the evening before - we would not have to order food and we would not have to carry their tanks or i could sleep longer instead of looking forward on a nice dive day and get send back.
So no bubbles for me today.
With this a big please on everybody who not feel to well to dive, let us know it as soon as you know it.

Blueberry Hill

This Divespot around 40 min. away from Klong Prao - that is where our boat is leaving from - is one of my favorite Divesite close by Koh Chang! And specialy when the Turtle is there, like it is nowadays .. Sometimes we just see her when she surface to take a breath - maybe someone should tell them about scuba gear, so they do not have to surface? Just a joke, but in free diving turtles would win! Yesterday when we went to dive on Blueberry Hill we saw her just in the end of the dive when we done our safety stop on 5meters. So of course we extended the stop for a couple of more minutes.

Engagement Underwater

Today is Valentine's Day, BUT for HER it was yesterday.
Yesterday on the dive boat he ask her the question of the life. Actually not on the boat it ws at the second dive on Hin Raap ... she was wondering already why everybody is smiling to her, of course Chang Diving Center team smiles always, but specially at that day, we was preparing everything.
AND she said YES, so he was the happiest man underwater.and later the party could go on ...

Bat Fish

When you are lucky while you dive around Koh Chang, there is a school of Bat Fishes, to be precise yellow Fin Bat Fish. So on chang diving center boat we all where lucky! They followed us through the half dive. It is actually not that seldom that they come close during a dive, they are very interested in what divers are doing - maybe it is just looking funny for them?
